Beautiful, shaded, spaced out campsites among old stand trees. Great for a small RV but the highway noise would be quite loud all night for in a tent. Not hard to get to, but if you have an RV be wary of weekends... Getting out past hundreds of poorly parked cars on a one way was a challenge. Would definitely stay here again.
Enjoyed this campground with its beautiful dense forest. Great hiking trails that start right at camp. Highway noise wasn't too bad when camped next to river. Plenty of cut logs laying around everywhere to split.
Beautiful campgrounds, well maintained, clean restrooms with flushable toilets. Electricity too! Picnic tables and a fire pit with a grill. We reserved the site online a couple months ago. We paid $8 on site for an extra car parking overnight. Heard the waxing and waning sound of the flowing river all night. The river stream is accessible for some water play with the kids but is very rocky. Access to plenty of hiking trails nearby. We have been here 3 times now, always a good experience!
Great little campground an hour from downtown Seattle and 10 min ride to the pass as well as many trailheads. Well maintained private sites and bathrooms. Gracious and friendly host. Unique and interesting place in between the EB and WB I-90 roadways. With the creek and rain, you can barely hear any vehicle traffic. Beautiful and convenient campground for venturing on a short jaunt out of the city!
Depending on where your site is, it's a lovely place to camp! Felt safe, restroom clean, not too loud for me in the inner part of the camp. Beautiful views. Gracious hosts and...... chipmunks!
Great campground. Clean restrooms. Water and electricity at campsite. Designated fire + Tent + picnic table area. Creek is very close to campsites, so easily accessible. Gusting water acts like white noise. Trucks maybe audible during night as campsites are next to highway but did not bother us that much. Perfect place to spend evenings with family. Camp host present at entrance of campground so you can get wood for campfire 🔥.
I counted the rings of a felled conifer by our campsite, it would've been a sapling in, approximately 1776.
Luckily there are old growth beauties, several years older at Denny Creek. Many of which straddle the banks and dip roots in the cool, clean creek waters. The creek flows through strikingly smooth slabs of the very rock it contoured at a serene, yet stalwart pace.
The whole area has the feel of some enchanted forest, with 2 large exceptions-one really. Human nature is the least attractive feature at Denny Creek. One, we can understand the necessity of-18 wheelers barreling down 90 at all hours. The other, I find unnecessary and unacceptable. Hiking back from the falls, my family saw tons of trash discarded by day trippers visiting TO HIKE TO THE FALLS! You're here to enjoy nature only so long as it doesn't mind your throwing garbage in it? Show some respect you pieces of sh*t!
Denny Creek Campgrounds are incredible so long as they're not screwed over by humans.
Nice campground! The sites are spacious, clean. Good hike on the trails nearby, Franklin Falls & Wagon. You can at times hear the hwy noise quite well, other times the rapids from the river is all you hear.
